Why Non-Profit?

How is Grace Abounds Different than other Counseling Agencies?

If you’ve ever wondered why we are a non-profit organization, and what exactly that means, this post is for you.

Grace Abounds was founded with the intention of bettering our community through a specific service. Our greatest desire is to see a healthier, happier, less-heartbreaking, and destructive community using the God-given gifts and callings placed on each individual involved in the operation of our non-profit organization.

A non-profit (or sometimes referred to as not-for-profit) operates like a business, but it is different than a FOR-PROFIT business.

Here’s how:

  • Non-profits do try to earn profit, but all money collected goes into the non-profit business as a whole in order to provide more services which serve our community; while for-profits operate with the single goal of making revenue.

  • Employees can be paid within a non-profit, but most are volunteers. A for-profit business owner earns an income and may also pay shareholders from the profit.

  • No single person owns Grace Abounds, but it is run by a board of members who receive no income or compensation.

Some examples of goals for Grace Abounds’ profits are:

  • A scholarship fund for those without insurance or adequate means to pay for quality, Christian, mental healthcare.

  • Trained mentors for a mentorship program.

  • A home/safe place with a family unit for those displaced by circumstances beyond their control.

As a not-for-profit business, no income is used to benefit any single member of the organization, but instead, our goal is to expand our services available to the community in an effort to make a difference.

This means that any time you make a donation or pay for services at Grace Abounds, one-hundred percent of that goes to the organization and enables us to expand in areas that will positively impact our community. Those around you in need that you may not even know are in need will be directly impacted by your donation or your choice to receive services here.

In summation….Grace Abounds exists to serve you.

And with each one of you that we serve, we are able to turn it into a service for others and make a greater impact in our community.
